Keith White
Keith White,
son of Vic White first started riding in 1971 at the Kings Lynn
track.
As
a contracted rider he had a career that saw him riding at Crewe,
Birmingham, Hackney, Leicester, Coventry, Milton Keynes and Long Eaton,
bet he is in the scrap books of many a speedway fan; to whom he was
known as Chalky.
With
regards to his riding career he considers his best achievement
qualifying for the Intercontinental Final in 1977, a generous complement
to the other riders concerned.
Being
selected for the English Lions Tour of Australia in 1977 rates as the
most proud moment of his entire speedway career.
Sadly
he lists his worst Memory of his speedway years as the loss of his good
friend Craig Featherby in an accident at the Peterborough
Speedway track in 1983.
Keith
retired from riding after 19 years service to the sport in 1990 and is
no longer involved in speedway in any way apart from being a member of
the World Speedway Riders Association. We wish him well and thank
him for allowing us to publish this profile and for the loan of the
photographs.
